Now that it’s December, it’s time to put up the tree…
I’ve just bought the tree. It’s nice and traditional - no pink or silver for me! It also has lights built in, which is convenient - it’s always so hard to get the lights evenly spread on the tree. I like the way they’re bright enough to light up the walls - nice and festive. The decorations are mine too, mostly bought last year for my first Christmas out of home. There’s one that’s a bit older, a beaded tree that I bought in South Africa a few years ago - you can see it just below the blinding blue light. It’s hanging sideways, unfortunately. My favourite ornament is the little red angel, hanging above the blinding red light (just higher than the string of red and gold beads). My decorations are nice and traditional too - baubles, angels, stars - none of these skanky-looking things that most shops try to sell you. I had all sorts of trouble finding something to put at the top of the tree - there was nothing in the shops intended for that spot. Eventually I found a nice big star on a string that was made of two pieces of metal joined at the tips of the star, with a space in the middle so that I could put it on the top branch - hooray! The final touch for a nice Christmas tree…

Looks pretty good to me. Maybe a few pressies and some tinsel but other than that I like it. Although the lop-sided star looks a little unusual
