I haven’t posted anything for about a week. I kept thinking of blogging, but either couldn’t think of anything I wanted to write about, or couldn’t be bothered. I’ve been busy with outreach stuff and assessment this week, and not really had time or space for reflection or writing. I’ve got a few ideas, but they’re not the sort of thing you can just bang out in five minutes. I need to sit down and ponder them, and further develop the ideas, and figure out what I want to say and how to structure it. And then write it. And proof-read it, and re-organise it, and proof-read it again[1].

What am I going to write about that takes so much thinking and effort? Well, the awesomeness of YouTube is one topic.. :p The other is my ideas about how to teach computer science. I’ve been having a few thoughts about that lately, and I’d like to expand on them a bit. Not sure how likely it’d be that any of it would get implemented, but I’d like to document my ideas and get some feedback nonetheless.

So those are some ideas I have for ’serious’, thoughful blogging. I’ll hopefully also think of some silly, frivolous things to blog about too. If I wasn’t at uni I’d go looking for more lolcats right now!

So yeah… That’s my excuses for not blogging this week :p

[1] Strangely enough I don’t go to nearly as much trouble as this with my uni essays. Bit of a worry. Although I do try…
